Name Change Note...for Life Coach Mary. As most of you know, one of my highlights in 2006 was getting married. And, so far...so blissful! I love being married to my John. Being a traditional gal who wanted to honor her husband by taking his name, I became Mary Cole. I figured, "No big deal. It's not like I'm some super famous celebrity. I'll just re-brand around Mary Cole. How hard can that be?" After changing my email, hearing the confusion even friends experienced (nearly deleting me) and given my name is in bookstores across America, I decided to make it simple. I want to make it EASY for people to connect me with my book, The Power of Inner Choice. So, I'm Mary Allen once again - professionally. Everywhere else, I'm Mary Cole. In either case, I'm still Life Coach Mary. When I first became a coach 8 year ago, I got the domain www.LifeCoachMary.com thinking it was a placeholder, and that I'd eventually change it to some corporate sounding name. Now I realize it is the timeless constant that represents best who I am and what I do. Thank you to those who encouraged me to just keep being Life Coach Mary.
Conversations with the Masters
I'm thrilled beyond belief to bring you some amazing "masters" in 2007. To kick off everyone's new year with soul shaking inspiration, Jim Rohn will be our first guest on January 23rd. For 39 years, Jim has empowered 6,000 audiences and 4 million people worldwide. He is the author of 17 different books, audio and video programs The Art of Exceptional Living and How to Build an Unshakable Character (two of my personal favorites.) Jim Rohn was also Tony Robbins first mentor. Go to www.lifecoachmary.com/jimrohn.htm to register for this free call.
Then, on March 27th, tap into the spiritual energy and wisdom of Adyashanti. Adyashanti’s nondual teachings have been compared to those of the early Zen masters and Advaita Vedanta sages. Expressing both the infinite possibilities and the ordinary simplicity of a spiritually realized life, Adyashanti’s teachings are directed to those who are sincerely called to awaken to their true nature and embody this life-changing realization. Go to www.lifecoachmary.com/adyashanti.htm to register for this free call.
This week's features...
Soulfully Being: CLICK - A Movie Review. I expected a mindless comedy. I received a powerful message that affected my being deeply. Are you " fast forwarding" during parts of your life? So matter how conscious you live your life, "CLICK" illustrates an important point -- not missing the moment.
Magic Moments: Free Hugs. This video link is a thousand magic moments wrapped into three and a half minutes. Brighten your day with this must see! It's touching beyond belief.
Soulful Spotlight - End of Year Completion. As 2006 draws to a close, it is a good time to turn inward and reflect on the past year, accomplishments, major events, traveling adventures, family time, magic moments. Several years ago, I began a process with my clients called "End of Year Completion." It's a wonderful way to 'move out the old' and bring in the new. I discovered this process with my first coach, and found it to be of enormous value to me personally, as well as for my clients. It's a process I STILL do each year. I encourage you to take the time to write down your own answers. It's also become my traditional way to close out the year.
Wishing you and your families many joyous moments during the holidays.

Click - A Movie Review. I expected this to be a mindless, silly comedy to help me decompress after a long week. Well, it's not that. I got something much deeper and more rewarding. It's left a lasting impression, and maybe it will for you too.
While I found myself laughing throughout (who can't laugh with Adam Sandler?), the movie presents a powerful and inspiring message about a man who receives a magical remote control that allows him to stop, fast forward and review certain times of his life. Initially, this is amazingly fun!! Finally, a dream come true. A way to skip a fight, and get immediately to "making up." A way to skip a boring dinner party. A way to get through an all-nighter work project. Yet, as the movie continues, the consequences of running on "auto-pilot" become clear, and quite painful.
How often do we "fast forward" in our lives, living on autopilot? How often are we looking forward to the future to start living? How often do we miss the present moment because we're caught up in thought? It's easy to justify "tuning out" for moments here and there, but there is a price.
While it's heart-wrenching to watch a rather dramatic representation of this real-life phenomena, it drives the point home to the core. It got me thinking about where in my life I "fast forward" and how easy it could be to miss so many precious moments with my husband, friends and family. How do I prevent this from happening to me? And, how do I encourage others to TRULY embrace the present moment NOW?
Most of you know, I teach the importance of "living in the present moment" in my book The Power of Inner Choice. And, in the book, I talk about NOW Practices. A NOW Practice is consciously focusing on "being 100% present" during a specific activity that you do daily. The point is to "practice being present" during a time where you may or may not be fully conscious and present. For example, showering, driving, working out, doing dishes, listening to a spouse or even having sex MAY be times when we either "partially go unconscious" or "fully go unconscious." In other words, we're fast forwarding through the activity without really being there. By bringing our full attention to simple everyday activities, we more automatically find ourselves being more present in other areas of our lives.
I love that CLICK humorously and dramatically illustrates what so many of us innocently do everyday. In fact, I bought this movie as gifts for several of my clients and family members.
A movie with a purposeful message is often more powerful than any seminar or book. I hope you become as affected by this movie as I was. Don't miss a moment of your life. No regrets. |

FREE HUGS - One of the gals from The Success and Inner Peace Bootcamp passed along a video link to all of us. It was something I couldn't keep to myself. Every time I watch it, it brings tears, smiles, outright laughter as every cell in my body tingles. I imagine you'll be affected the same way.
This 3 minute and 39 second video has now been watched 7,830, 529 times!! Nearly 8 Million!!! ENJOY.

I've also included a link to a little news clip from Australia, which is where this originated. A small USA band, The Sick Puppies, wrote this song after hearing about one man's efforts to dish out hugs to strangers. Spreading the love. Click below.

End of Year COMPLETION - This is an excellent tool to reflect upon the past year, get complete, and prepare you for setting new goals in 2007. WRITE DOWN ALL your answers, especially the Successes, Wins and Accomplishments. It's one thing to "think about it", it's another to capture it in writing! Enjoy the process.
1. What are your disappointments, failures, and breakdowns? Let's acknowledge what these items are....this is an opportunity to let them go, carry them forward, or make a new promise.
2. Make a second list titled: Successes, Wins and Accomplishments. This is a chance to celebrate and own who you have become this year, and your achievements. Where did you step into your power and greatness? Please don't skimp on these. The little stuff counts. NO modesty allowed. Let's validate all your accomplishments. Look through your organizer to remind you.
3. What have you learned about yourself and your life? What insights have you gained? True insights have the transformational capability of shifting us into a new, more alive place! As we are blessed with insights it is important to nurture and deepen these new understandings.
4. What are you grateful for? This list might include some of the above and anything else you truly appreciate about yourself or any other area of your life. There is a basic principle. Whatever you appreciate and give thanks for will increase in your life.
5. How will you celebrate and honor your year 2006 accomplishments? What would be a fun, special thing to do for yourself?
