Greetings. It's been awhile since you've received an edition of SoulFULLY Living. I don't like letting this much time lapse between issues, but a nasty chest virus put me out of commission for nearly three weeks in July. I also squeezed in a move (still in Los Gatos), did 4 book events, attended a Couples Workshop and have traveled much. I'm glad to reconnect with you and share several exciting announcements -- personally and professionally.

"The Power of Now in Chaos and Transformation"
One of the central themes in my new book The Power of Inner Choice is about "being present." In general, I've found "being present" is easier during fulfilling moments, and less so during chaotic, challenging and changing times. As you may suspect, I've been experiencing heap-loads of change over the last two months. This has given me an opportunity to "be present" to transition in a whole new way. In this issue, I'd like to offer some fresh distinctions about "being present," particularly during a time of intense change. During stressful periods, it's easy to get caught up in the mind that is juggling a thousand thoughts, or consumed with emotion. Or perhaps to avoid a time of chaos, we predominantly "check-out" -- missing the vast majority of the experience. No doubt "transitions" are filled with uncertainty. How would it be to bear witness to transition, uncertainty and mixed emotion in a non-judgmental way -- and not miss the evolution happening before your eyes? My experience says this is a worthy endeavor. "Being present" is a fabulous way to stay in your power. To "condense" this issue, I've included this feature in the next issue of SoulFULLY Living, arriving in a few days.
FUN NEWS
The biggest news is that I am now very happily engaged to my John! On the one year anniversary of the day we met, John surprised me with a proposal and a lovely (very lovely!) engagement ring while dining in front of a gorgeous fireplace setting in Capitola. We're thinking about a March 2006 wedding, and exploring lots of options now. For the romantics out there -- I've included a couple photos on the right. These pictures were taken when we'd known each other for five weeks. Since I'm going to be traveling a lot for the book tour, and we're getting married, our engagement was followed by a move and consolidation of homes. It was quite an orchestration, with countless trips to storage. What did we ever do before SUV's? The cozy cottage offers a nurturing haven. One of the many bonuses is the family of deer that frequent the property.
BOOK TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
Two days after I moved in, the book tour kicked off in Vancouver, BC in late July with three book events, including a Learning Annex event on the 34th floor of the Hyatt overlooking a stunning water and mountain scene. Truly lovely, as are the people in Vancouver. The private event at Susan Washington's home was also a treat, with 30 amazing people packed in her living room. I couldn't have asked for a better first stop.The book signing at Barnes & Noble in Orange, CA also had its highlights. The coordinator for Barnes & Noble participated in my talk, and at the end, shared that my book had only been one of THREE books she's ever bought at a book signing...in all the dozens she's scheduled!! Another highlight was receiving an order for 200 books to be shipped to Nigeria!! Apparently a minister at a church wanted a copy for everyone in his congregation.
