FEATURES this week...FULLY Connected - The Power of Acknowledgment and Appreciation.  On the interview with Dr. Hawkins earlier this week, he referred to APPRECIATION as being magical.  It feels good to live from a state of appreciation, AND it also builds self-esteem in others.  The article below serves as a great reminder.  

***There are wonderful examples of genuine appreciation from those who participated on the conference call with Dr. Hawkins, in the section below.Magic Moments - APPRECIATION FLOODS.  This is a fun structure to use with a group, team or family.  It creates intimacy, builds up each individual in the group, and it's fun to give and receive in this process.  It's also a wonderful thing to do to honor an individual on a special birthday or a couple on their anniversary.  Appreciation floods can be done anywhere at anytime, and always leave the recipients feeling "fluffed" and smiling.SoulFULLY Being - Highlights from the Dr. David Hawkins Conference Call. On Tuesday, 9/21 -- 570 people from across the country and world assembled on one conference call bridge line, and listened attentively to tuned in for the Special Conference Call Interview with Dr. David Hawkins.  For those of you unable to participate, the call was recorded.  The call was filled with gems and insights, as we covered a gamut of topics.  Below are some of the key highlights from the interview, and some of the many emails I received afterwards.  Collectively they've described the impact of the call and will likely inspire you to listen.  This is a call you'll want to listen to -- and then LISTEN AGAIN.

The Power of Acknowledgment and Appreciation - Whether you are male or female, young or old..confidant or insecure, everyone LOVES to be appreciated and acknowledged.  Loves it!! While we all love to be acknowledged and appreciated for tasks and gestures we do.  And, what people crave even more is to be appreciated for "who they are". That's the stuff that makes them uniquely them... personal strengths and qualities, personality traits, idiosyncrasies, values and ideals. Qualities such as generosity, determination, integrity, honesty and quirkiness. Another powerful way to acknowledge another is by sharing with someone how you feel as a result of being around them....such as "I feel safe with you", "I'm inspired by you", or "I feel adored by you". 

SOULFUL CHALLENGE: For the next week, make it all about ACKNOWLEDGING and APPRECIATING your partner, or if you're a super achiever, as many people as possible. Acknowledge the things they do for you, for themselves, how they look, and most importantly what you love about "who they are", etc. Not only does appreciation feel good to those receiving it, it feels great dishing it out.

Five women were on retreat, wrapping up their weekend at a restaurant in Pacific Grove overlooking the water.  We started with Mandy.  In no particular order, each of the others shared their honest, heartfelt appreciations for who Mandy is and how inspiring she is.  Some acknowledged her beauty, her sexiness, the sensuality she exudes, her spunky personality and sense of nurturing.  We acknowledged how she livens up any room, and inspires others to dance and enjoy the moment more fully.  We acknowledged who she is as a friend, coach and contributor to the world.  Michelle spoke.  Jeanna spoke. Eva spoke and I spoke.  Additional comments continued to pop spontaneously from each of us.  Mandy thoroughly enjoyed the compliments and was smiling ear to ear. After this continued for some time, she began to get a little uncomfortable as she did her best to take in such wonderful words from this close circle of friends. The idea is, of course, is to go beyond the point of saturation with each person, as this allows the person to RECEIVE even more.  As we completed with Mandy, she graciously said, "I feel thoroughly fluffed".  And such is the outcome of an Appreciation Flood.We moved on, focusing all of our energy and attention on each woman, one at a time.  The words of appreciation flow, until every person in the group was thoroughly "fluffed".I highly recommend this process as a way of honoring someone's birthday or anytime you want to practice the art of appreciation.  It's good for the soul.
