So much has happened since the last issue of SoulFULLY Living. Be sure to dive into the details of this issue so you don't miss the extraordinary resources available to you. Many of these are time sensitive...so review the "sidebar" carefully.

Here's why you haven't heard from me much for a few weeks...

Vacation in North Carolina

July included two weeks in North Carolina with family. The views from my father's home in the mountains of Waynesville, NC were stunning. Can you believe their garden?

It was a treat to speak to the ICF-Charlotte Chapter. What a fabulous group of coaches! My topic "7 Simple Secrets of a Six Figure Coach." After the event I dined with coaches Laura Neff and Karen McMillan (both graduates of Beyond Six Figures for Coaches.)

Then, John flew out and we all spent a week on Ocrocoke Island. After taking a 2 1/2 hour ferry, the primary mode of transportation was rickety bikes (imagine Mayberry). No cell phone coverage = No iPhone. Virtually no internet, which made it super easy to unplug. Beach time was a staple. 15 month old Emma kept us all smiling (my step-brother Ben and his wife Shannon's daughter). Amazing day trip to the infamous Hatterus Lighthouse (tallest in USA) to Wright Brothers Memorial, where the "first flight" took place. Remarkable to learn the story of these committed men who helped us "connect" more easily to all parts of the country and the world.

Since my trip to NC (plus, a few days on trip), I've been working feverishing on the "invitation" to my upcoming Inner Peace Immersion Retreat, which is October 3-10th in Joshua Tree, CA. What a joy it is to see this 6 Day/7 Night Retreat come to life. I can barely wait to unveil it!

Look for the invitation THIS week! Maybe even... ...TOMORROW! If you're inspired to attend, be sure to reserve your space ASAP -- there are only 30 spaces available, and there are already 3 spoken for. I expect this event to grow in size each year, so this will be the most intimate event.

Inner Peace VIDEO

After being nudged by several mentors and colleagues to jump into the world of online video -- I finally did! Credit really goes to Colleen McGunnigle who offered to help (she's the remarkable graphic designer who created the SoulFULLY Living ezine graphics, my book cover, Your Daily Gems banner and all the othere gorgeous graphics in my business!)

You may have already seen the first FOUR videos...two "warm-up" videos and two "inner peace tip" videos. The first one has been seen 546 times...in just a week! (It's VERY fun to see the views go up!) If you haven't seen them...here they are. Looking forward to doing more of them.

As I've already stated publicly, I've been a wee bit "insecure" about doing video, but I'm getting over it. It's interesting to witness my own dance with "imperfection." I feel vulnerable and liberated at the same time. Of course, one of the best inner peace tips of all time is: FEEL THE FEAR and DO IT ANYWAY. If you haven't yet posted your first video...I highly recommend it. All the supportive emails have soothed my trepidation. And, rest assured...I'll continue to improve over time :-)

Video gives me a way to finally share so many of the valuable tips for creating greater everyday inner peace. These are practical strategies are favorites of my clients. While many of us are familiar with popular spiritual principles for everyday inner peace, I'm big on actually integrating them into our lives. So, if you're wanting to boost your inner peace quotient, be sure to catch these videos.

Inner Peace Immersion Preview Call

To give you a peak at what you can expect from this unique "Inner Peace Immersion Retreat," a glimpse at the 12 Facets of the Inner Peace Wheel and practical tips to expand your sense of everyday inner peace, I decided to just host ONE special preview call on August 25th at 5pm PT (8pm ET). Mark your calendar. This call will be loaded with content, as I hope to entice you to reserve one of just 30 spaces at the Inner Peace Immersion Retreat.

If you're interested in being the first to learn more

Conversations with the Masters

If you missed the Conversations with the Masters call with Byron Katie last month, it's well worth a re-listen. You can access the recording at:

http://www.lifecoachmary.com/byronkatie2.htm

After the call, I found myself quite emotional as I realized "every stressful thought" we continue to stay attached to -- is the equivalent to "self-abuse." The seemingly simple thought, "I have too much to do" is more destructive to my inner peace than I realized. (If this share doesn't make sense...listen to Katie's interview.)

You'll notice in the sidebar, there are three upcoming "Conversations with the Masters" calls. This month is best-selling author of "Getting Things Done" by David Allen. I'm devouring his book now...and love how his philosophy for productivity is all about living out of the present moment. Be sure to register for the call on August 24th at 11:00am PT CLICK HERE

Words can't convey how honored I am to bring you Ken Wilber -- prolific author and philosopher on October 28th. His CD series Kosmic Consciousness has impacted my life tremendously. And...on November 17th, you'll get to hear Joan Borysenko, author of Inner Peace for Busy People (and many others too!)

5 Indisputable Reasons to Make ‘Inner Peace’ Your Predominant Way of Being

When you get sucked into the vortex of inner turmoil, how long does it take you to return to your “peaceful power?”  Perhaps the bigger question is, “what is it costing you when you’re not resting in inner peace?  How does any version of “inner turmoil” (subtle irritation or big stress) impact your life?

There are countless reasons to invite Inner Peace as your lifestyle.  Inner peace is the foundational key to realizing the most valued aspects of life.

1. Key to Health and Well-Being.  The mirror opposite of inner peace is STRESS.  Countless studies reveal how stress accelerates virtually every disease (cancers, diabetes, asthma, acne, etc).  It exacerbates infertility challenges, increases sexual impotence and feeds pain.  Stress also ages us more quickly, and interferes with our well-being.  Over-eating is clearly associated with underlying angst.  I see this in myself.  Have you ever noticed the correlation between your state of being and your food choices?  When I’m enjoying inner peace, I naturally make healthier food choices including veggie smoothies for breakfast, luscious salads for lunch, and lean proteins incluing fish and chicken with vegetables for dinner.

When emotional turbulence rises, I notice how automatically I reach for macaroni and cheese or other “comfort foods.” (This is a great clue for my husband that something is off!) The greater inner peace you have in your life, the greater health and well-being you get to enjoy.

2. Key to Thriving RelationshipsShow me a person struggling to access inner peace, and I guarantee they are struggling in their relationships.  It makes sense, doesn’t it?  Law of Attraction tells us, “If you’re not at peace, you’ll either attract someone who mirrors your non-peaceful state of being or attract no one at all.”  If you’re in a relationship, how does stress, overwhelm or inner turmoil impact your relationship?  What tone of voice arises?  How loving and affectionate are you when your inner peace quotient is low or non-existent?  How does your state of being affect arguments or disagreements?  The more inner peace you have, the easier it is to attract the love of your life, and the easier it is to naturally create a thriving relationship.  When you’re at peace, listening with compassion, understanding your partner and creatively co-creating solutions happens effortlessly.

3. Key to Happiness.  Isn’t life ultimately about fulfillment and happiness?  Inner peace and happiness are close cousins.  Without inner peace, you may temporarily find moments of happiness, but authentic happiness remains out of reach.  When given a choice, would you rather feel good or feel bad?  Seems like a silly question.  However, the overwhelming majority of people continue to settle for “feeling bad.”  If you’re not choosing “inner peace,” by default you’re consciously or unconsciously choosing against happiness.

4. Key to Success.  Some people believe success brings inner peace. But, the opposite is true. Peaceful people create success for themselves.

Why?  Because when inner peace is your predominant way of being, you’re tapped into a source of power guiding your choices, keeping you on top of your game and doing things in “flow.”  Have you ever noticed how successful people seem to do things effortlessly?  It’s because they are aligned with their sense of purpose, authenticity and inspired action.  And, all that is more easily accessible when inner peace is your predominant state of being.

NOTE:  Inner peace is neither sufficient nor necessary for success.  However, doesn’t it make sense…when you have inner peace, whatever you’re doing comes more easily and naturally? You’ll achieve success by flowing with life, rather than fighting it.

This Joseph Campbell passage speaks to this point.  “Following Your Bliss” and inner peace are synonymous here.

“ I even have a superstition that has grown on me as the result of invisible hands coming all the time – namely, that if you follow your bliss you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living.  When you can see that, you begin to meet people who are in your field of your bliss, and they open the doors to you.  I say, follow your bliss and don’t be afraid, and doors will open where you didn’t know they were going to be.”

“Where ever you are – if you are following your bliss, you are enjoying that refreshment, that life within you, all the time.”

 – Joseph Campbell “The Power of Myth”

5. Key to Enlightenment.  More and more people feel drawn to the path of “enlightenment.” Are you one of them?  Enlightenment comes through the process of stilling the mind and accepting “what is” without resistance.  It’s about stripping away anything interfering with true inner peace.  If you want to ultimately experience enlightenment for yourself, become curious about anything disrupting your inner peace.  As you investigate and transcend these culprits, the more inner peace becomes your predominant way of being. The same principles allowing inner peace as your predominant way of being are the same principles that lead to enlightenment.  It may be an enjoyable bonus.

Are you inspired to make inner peace your predominant way of being?
